Federation for Women and Family Planning (FEDERA)
Founded by a group of five Polish feminist organisations in 1991, the Federation for Women and Family Planning (FEDERA) undertakes advocacy and campaigning on sexual and reproductive rights, provides education services, and runs a counselling helpline staffed by lawyers and medical professionals. FEDERA acts as the umbrella organisation for a number of different initiatives. It hosts the secretariat of the Astra Network, a regional network for NGOs and experts on sexual and reproductive health and rights in Central and Eastern Europe. It also coordinates the Ponton group of peer-to-peer youth sex educators and facilitates the recently formed Great Coalition for Equality and Choice, a loose network of organisations and informal groups in Poland advocating for reproductive rights.
