UHAI
UHAI (meaning ‘life’ or ‘alive’ in Swahili) is an indigenous activist fund founded in 2008 which provides resources to support civil society activism around issues of sexuality, health and human rights in East Africa, with a particular focus on the rights of sexual minorities. UHAI provides grants and capacity support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) and sex worker organisations in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
