Ashkal Alwan
Ashkal Alwan (Lebanese Association for the Plastic Arts) acts as a hub for artists and cultural workers in Lebanon. Its primary activities are exhibitions, provision of artist studios, community mobilisation, international residencies, and exchanges. They play an important role convening artists nationally, regionally and internationally. Most recently Home Works, one of their key educational programmes, opened up to the general public for exchange and critical discussion. Ashkal Alwan is a not for profit organisation founded in 1993, with five staff led by Director Christine Tohme.
