Association BIOM
Founded in 2006, BIOM aims to preserve biodiversity for the benefit of nature and society. From its beginnings as a small ornithological research organisation, BIOM’s remit has expanded to encompass the conservation of mammals and plants as well as wider landscapes and ecosystems. It has a particular focus on grassland, aquatic habitats and karst (distinctive landscapes shaped by water and soluble rocks). Key activities include biological research and monitoring; habitat restoration; protected area designation and management; environmental education and public engagement; and policy advocacy.
