CHEM Trust
Established in 2007, CHEM Trust aims to improve the regulation of hazardous chemicals with the potential of causing long-term damage to humans and wildlife. Working with policy makers, scientists and civil society groups, CHEM Trust campaigns for restrictions on certain classes of chemicals and the use of safer alternatives. CHEM Trust is focussed particularly on endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), which are known to interfere with hormones in humans and wildlife and can be found in everyday products (such as plastic containers, detergents, food, toys, cosmetics, and pesticides). Since inception, the organisation has focussed its advocacy at the European level because European Union chemical regulation is progressive and influences policy elsewhere.
