Earth Law Center

The Earth Law Center was founded in 2008 to develop an eco-centric legal framework focused on protecting, restoring, and stabilising the functional interdependency of Earth’s ecosystems. That nature has an inherent right to exist, thrive, and evolve is the basis for the work of the Earth Law Center. In practice, the Center runs an educational outreach programme; forges strategic partnerships with grassroots organisations and indigenous leaders to provide frontline legal support; and it secures new laws, as well as pursuing strategic litigation. The Trust is supporting the Earth Law Center specifically for its work to secure the rights of rivers in various contexts.
