Ecumenical Women’s Initiative
The Ecumenical Women’s Initiative (EWI) (Ekumenska inicijativa žena) is a regional women’s fund founded in Croatia in 2007 to support and promote women’s rights and grassroots peacebuilding and activism in the region. EWI undertakes grantmaking, accompaniment and networking in six countries in south east Europe – Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, under the themes of women’s rights, peace-building and inter-cultural/religious dialogue and cooperation. EWI targets grassroots women-led groups particularly in rural communities. It also supports meeting spaces and activities in which women of different religious identities can collaborate on issues that affect their lives and their communities.
