Georgian Centre for the Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims
Established in 2000, the Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) assists victims of torture and ill-treatment in Georgia through the provision of medical and psychosocial care and legal advice. GCRT also strives to prevent torture and ill-treatment through monitoring conditions in detention centres, working to strengthen the National Preventive Mechanism, raising awareness of international and domestic anti-torture provisions amongst law enforcement officials, and training prison staff. In addition it works with victims of other forms of trauma, including women and children who have suffered domestic and sexual violence, and people who have been displaced due to conflict.
