GroundUp is a South African not-for-profit news agency, founded in 2012 by Nathan Geffen to address a gap in the media landscape when it came to reporting on citizen protests and the work of civil society activists. Their content is published under a creative commons and is regularly reprinted and featured in other South African news publications such as the Daily Maverick and News24.
