International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI)
The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) works with the global legal community to promote and protect human rights and the independence of the legal profession worldwide. Established in 1995 under the honorary presidency of Nelson Mandela, they provide human rights training and technical assistance for legal practitioners and institutions, building their capacity to effectively promote and protect human rights under a just rule of law. The Trust’s grant supported IBAHRI’s project to observe a trial in Turkey relating to 16 individuals accused by prosecutors of seeking to stir up protests against the government over the redevelopment of Gezi Park in 2013.
The Trust also supported IBAHRI between 2019-2020.
