Safe Passage
Safe Passage International combines parliamentary lobbying and community organising with cross-border legal casework and strategic litigation to help young refugees access safe and legal routes to protection across Europe. They began working with unaccompanied minors in Calais in October 2015 using the Dublin III regulation to get the UK Government to ‘take charge’ of asylum application. This lead to children being brought to safety in the UK. They now have staff members in France and Greece and are increasingly using their unique approach to encourage EU countries to use legal mechanisms, including the Dublin III regulation, more consistently across borders to provide increased access to safety.
