Shipyard

Based in Warsaw, Shipyard (Stocznia in Polish) was created in 2009 as a centre to support social innovation and civic participation on public affairs. It runs a high-level think tank through which it is paid to carry out research for foundations and civil society groups, and evaluate the social impact of corporations and government. Shipyard’s Laboratory of Civic Participation develops and tests tools for public participation and provides support to local authorities on how best to involve citizens in decision-making, and central government on how to consult the public on major legal and policy reforms.
