St Anthony’s College, Oxford University
St Antony’s College is one of Oxford University’s seven graduate-only colleges. Its purpose is to promote international understanding in a complex world. It is a world leading hub for modern history, international relations, economics, development and area studies, politics, and anthropology. Unique among the Oxford Colleges, St Antony’s has seven regional study centres focussing on Europe, Russia and Eurasia, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Japan, and Asia.
The SRT grant will contribute toward the endowment of a new Professorship in Contemporary European History, based at the college and housed within the Faculty of History. Honouring Professor Timothy Garton Ash, the new Chair will enrich the work of the College’s European Studies Centre and foster the next generation of emerging scholars.
