Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group
Established in 2018, the Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group (ULAG) aims to enhance domestic accountability for conflict-related crimes committed in Eastern Ukraine. The organisation represents victims at the European Court of Human Rights and campaigns for the ratification of the International Criminal Court’s Rome Statute. ULAG likewise seeks to advance legislative and institutional reforms to further the harmonisation of the Ukrainian penal code with international standards, as well as the development of in-country mechanisms to hold perpetrators to account. To this end, the organisation undertakes analyses, provides policy recommendations and deploys advocacy efforts, calling for justice for victims of wartime violence.
An emergency grant was given in June 2022 for additional support after Russia’s invasion.
