Zenska Soba (Women’s Room)

Ženska Soba (or Women’s Room) is a feminist, non-profit organisation founded in 2002, which aims to combat sexual violence and protect sexual and reproductive rights in Croatia. It provides direct support and assistance to survivors of sexual violence through its Center for Victims of Sexual Violence – the only specialised centre of this type in Croatia, which opened in 2008. In recent years, Women’s Room has undertaken over 10,000 protection interventions, including accompanying women through court proceedings and providing counselling and therapy for survivors and their close relatives. Women’s Room also fulfils its goals through: education with a focus on prevention of violence; research; policy development; advocacy; and networking.
