The Trust runs three grant-making programmes:

 

Human Rights

Programme Priorities:

  • Access to justice and the rule of law
  • Justice and accountability for international crimes
  • Torture prevention and rehabilitation for victims of torture
  • Criminal justice and conditions in detention
  • Memorialization and reparation for victims of human rights abuses

 

Open Societies

Programme Priorities:

  • Freedom of expression and public interest media
  • Freedom of association and civic participation
  • Corruption and undue influence
  • The Arts

 

Environment

Programme Priorities:

  • The regulation and reduction of harmful chemicals and pollution
  • Regulating harmful impacts of business and development projects
  • Protecting biodiversity
